Had a quick look at Trolls which is getting a decent EA rollout here of 10 showings which could give it a bit of a bump. Expect those to be busy on a Saturday without much else around besides a played out Paw Patrol. Only been on sale a few hours but it is indeed already outpacing Wish's first full day - will post it tomorrow once I have the full day data.

MTC3 count is rather low here as well.  Though I will note that, locally at least, screen expansion really doesn't start until T-6 or so.  Sometimes  a few MTC2s will expand a little early, especially the bigger ones in the market.  But the initial sets are the initial sets barring something truly big happening mid-run.  

 

FWIW, not counting the local drive-in:

 

MTC1:  n/a in the market

MTC2:  72 showings | at least three screens at all locations, except one that only has nine screens total.

MTC3:  20 showings | one screen at all locations except one that has a PLF screen.

Mini1:  8 showings | n/a at two theaters, PLF coverage at two others + 1 extra screen at a 16 screen location

Mini2:  1 showing.

 

What happened locally is that everyone had a very small initial set, but MTC2 jumped out and planted their flag nearly immediately into the pre-sale period.  Everyone else is hanging back.  Hell, one of the minis still hasn't put up any Thur showings at two of their locations.  One only has six screens, with limited hours, so understandable for that location.  The other though?  Got admit surprised to see it still empty for Thur.

 

Don't know if there is also corporate wrangling going on behind the scenes or not, but in my market at least one of the majors was far more proactive than the other when it comes to FNAF.

@M37 What were you saying again about $13m to $14m as a possible target?  

 

Given how TLM had an... atypical pre-sale run thanks to Disney's strong promotion of it at the beginning of the U-curve, tend to think this one is gonna keep rising as well.  But given it was fairly atypical it might not rise all that much since FNAF has its own possible peculiarities.  Just enough to maybe land in that mooted 13-14 range, maybe?

It did drop against every comp, but it pretty much stayed even with the larger comps. Right now I would guess it'll slowly drop to something like $3.25 Million, but we'll see. On a positive note, this will be the first release in like forever that I get to do T-1 hour for, yay!

So for the next couple of weeks I'll just post the numbers twice a week without much reference point.

Exact same comp situation as Wish, and I did track the Saturday EA showings for TMNT, which will be a nice comp for. I know that Saturday + Monday EA accounted for $1.65 Million, but I'm not sure of the split there (MON had more pre-sales and showings, but I can only assume SAT had more walk-ups, so I might just split the difference).

 

Thursday seats and showings: 1x Day 1 showings for Wish; 0.97x Day 1 seats for Wish (in 14 theaters versus Wish's 11, so for now it seems like that will have more offerings)

Sadly movies doesn't have any final push when It's the final moment. Everything post strike ends always under predictions.

For me Scorsese will end in the 30-35M range. I really hope not even a little bit under 30.

FNAF 9 PM Update

 

theatres in my area finally starting to move.

 

Both Cineplex’s and the Landmark in my area adding Thursday previews at 5 PM today. 9 showings in total. 
 

1191 total seats 17 sold so far.

 

Only 1 of the 3 has added Friday showings so far. 4 in total. On sale around 9 AM this morning. 192 sold/392 total seats

 

That said one of these theatres has given more available seats to Freelance than KOTFM on the Thursday too so what do I know?

 

On that note…. Any chance any of the other weekend releases (Freelance/After Death etc.) goes 10+ OW total against FNAF?
