Don’t get the doom and gloom for Mutant Mayhem especially when EA burnt off a lot of demand OW. It’s still a great hold in general. It’s likely to outgross Out of The Shadows and has a good chance at beating the one in the 1990s for second biggest Ninja Turtles movie. This is no Smurfs: The Lost Village. It’s looking likely for 130-150m (maybe even more) domestically and should do over 300m WW on a 70m budget. Very good chance for like Elemental for it to be the first summer animations in twenty years to do a 5x in summer provided it follows Super Pets.

Over 300M WW might be a bit too much, it doesn't appear to be an amazing overseas performer so far in 60% of the markets it launched at. Korea/Japan will influence a lot though, and they launch in a month. Realistically, 220M-250M is gonna be a ceiling on this one, which is still good.

Anyways, a really good Mission Impossible domestic hold this week. It won't matter much in the end, but it's nice to see legs on this one.

AMONG HOLLYWOOD RELEASES, ELEMENTAL has also entered the top 10 worldwide after passing JOHN WICK IV and TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS. It might end up at #9 if it has enough legs to pass ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA (476.0M)

Then it might stay there until DUNE II (If it doesn't move.)

Should beat Mario WW to become biggest movie of 2023 before Labor Day.

Mario being overhauled this year looked impossible, let alone before we even get to September.

I agree. Both have been stunning performaces.

Haunted Mansion may not make 1x its production budget ($157M) WW - that would probably be good enough to take over 1st place in this year's bomb competition...

The Flash and Indy 5 lost more money because of their high budgets.

Everybody waiting for Halloween Disney+. Could have waited and put it out theatrically, but nope! I think this spells out that they can no longer put out seasonal-themed movies outside of the actual holiday and do big business. Their streaming service is absolutely murdering them.

Honestly it was probably doomed no matter what between the weak reviews + that massive budget (and Disney knew it). Not sure a Halloween launch would've made that much of a difference.

Disney REALLY needs to sort their sh*t out.

at the beginning of this year i was really convinced this would have been the first year since like i don't know when (excluding of course 2020-2021) with no 1B movies. Then Mario and Barbie changed the thing (if OPP could touch it too would be incredible).

Both Mario and Barbie of course are already famous brands but we all can agree near to 1.5B dollars where absolutely not granted, so it's cool to see again something unpredictable happening instead of these avengers, star wars, disney live actions you already knew they would make that when they were announced 😅.

Also thhey are two 1B+ more movies are not sequels/remakes. With OPP they could be 3 and it would be amazing.

Sadly those chinese films’s box office hasn’t been updated in Box Office Mojo yet, but they should.

Isn't that still sitting on a shelf collecting dust lmao.

TBF Salem's Lot is a much easier sell than Demeter but I suspect it's on the shelf because it's very bad. WB might need to dust it off if they're short of content next year.
