320,000 admissions for Top Gun: Maverick, that includes 120,000 previews, it's an excellent start, for comparison DS2 it was 335k but without real previews, 317k (including 140k previews) for Fantastic Beasts 3.

Yes, big first week is coming, Thursday was Ascension Day and a lot of people took a day off on Friday, that explains how Thursday and Friday were bigger than the opening day (without preview), Paris Thursday had almost twice as many admissions as Wednesday ( 37k vs 70k) and Friday 50k, it's really impressive and the WOM is great with a 4.4/5.

First week since early 2020:

2 867 515 Spider-Man: NWH
1 529 608 Top Gun 2

1 438 287 Doctor Strange 2

1 384 858 No Time to die

1 301 589 Fast & Furious 9

1 165 588 The Batman

1 132 062 Fantastic Beasts 3

Best opening week of 2022 and second best first week since the covid for Top Gun 2, Thursday and Friday were bigger than Saturday and Sunday because of the Feast of the Ascension but i think the second week will do fine with the amazing wom.

808k admissions between June 1 and June 5 for Top Gun: Maverick, it was 1.328.181 for the first 5 days mean it dropped -39%, holding great when you know last week takes into account the previews and a national holiday.

Today is Pentecost Monday so you can expect a solid Monday with a drop even smaller over 7 days.

Several sources say the studio is mulling skipping the theatrical release altogether in France and releasing straight on streaming platform Disney Plus in order to avoid being subjected to the local windowing release schedule.

Pretty sure they're bluffing

Nope, no bluffing first film is going to be Strange World which will skip cinemas in France while it is released in the rest of the world.

Dissatisfied with not being able to release them on its Disney+ platform until 17 months after their theatrical release and having to remove them from its online service temporarily when they are broadcast on free-to-air channels such as TF1 and M6, the Disney giant has decided to release his next animated film “Strange World” directly on Disney+ and skip the big screen. And this, only in France, yet one of the countries with the highest density of cinemas in the world!

"It is the consequence of the "media chronology" as practiced in France that we consider unfair, restrictive and unsuited to the expectations of our audiences," said Hélène Etzi, President France of Disney.

When will we know OD admissions?

Tomorrow, I expect a solid opening week but I don't know if it would have good legs, 2.9/5 on allociné, it's already below Jurrasic world and Jurrasic world: Fallen Kingdom with a score of 3.5 and 3.3 respectively.

OW will easily over 1m right?

Not sure, around i think.

Fantastic Beasts 3 look good, FB3 suffers a small drop of 32% this week with 50k more entries. Total of 2,720M. It could be in the 2.9M at the end of operation. Not the best but the legs are good with a start at 1.1 million admissions.
