Omni
The most evident sign that Aladdin is running out of gas is not its absolute numbers but the simple fact that it's not holding considerably better than the competition on weekdays. Also, its presales-to-daily figure multiplier is getting very very low. A wonderful run with a slightly disappointing ending. 2

It's undoubtedly a little disappointing as its chances of becoming the #1 Hollywood movie ever in admissions were growing and a few days have been enough to blow them away. There's a big difference between "movie x is a disappointment" (Aladdin's total gross is the opposite of that) and "movie x's final legs were disappointing" (which in this case is just an implementation of the meaning of the word). 1

Not really. When Aladdin started to have incredible holds, people here already said that movies with legs like Aladdin would eventually have a big drop, and once it falters, it would never recover. Same thing happened with Frozen. So this is expected, not a disappointment. Maybe your expectation just too high. 2
Omni
I expected it to finish way under 10M admissions even after its 3rd weekend. But two weeks ago, or even at the beginning of last week, chances became really strong, as it only needed another close-to-flat weekend, people thought it was a 50/50 and that it would have eaten competition once more (which was all it needed). Failing to meet those totally realistic expectations/hopes/projections is the only disappointing thing about this movie, whose run has been, in my opinion, the most exciting and interesting one in a single OS market since Frozen in Japan (another case of disappointing ending, though for different reasons). 1 2
imbruglia
it's funny that disney korea expected aladdin to end around 1M. then it became huge, most people doubt 10m, but passed easily and still going for 12.5~13m end.. what a crazy run. TLK looks like won't pass 5m. I think If it was released earlier with less competition, it could match beauty and the beast. still audience reaction being.. okay. no engagement. it had no chance of being that massive. (4.6m still great number tho)
charlie Jatinder
I watched Aladdin today, couldn't watched in theatre due to exams and decided to say it here. It's best Disney live-action remake yet IMO and its shame that it's under BaTB in West. This film deserve to be $1.5 Bn plus. Asia did its part, China & India could have been much much better however. Hopefully sequels are able to do better, but I guess the original being that good did play a big part. Loved all the addictions they made to the film. Also note to Disney, never go to the firm again which cut Aladdin trailer/teaser. 5
