A Marvel Fanboy
I see middle 200M (250M) more likely, tops. By way of comparison, the studio reported, Oblivion’s opening was 22 percent above that of Tron: Legacy in the comparable territories, 70 percent ahead of Jack Reacher and just 7 percent below the recent Oz The Great and Powerful. John Marston
Universal picked such a shitty release date. What they should have done is movie Jurassic Park 3D to September or October and opened Oblivion everywhere on April 5.
A Marvel Fanboy
I tend to agree. Open Oblivion more week earlier would be much better.

It is always a weak weekend.

It is always a weak weekend. it's still an extra weekend and it would have had more time to breathe and make up any lost business from the opening before Iron Man 3 came out

TLK
I think this is a good number. $350 million WW will likely happen with a shot at $400 million if it breaks out domestically.
Bob Violence
Did it open in China? Should be a May release in China. It's definitely not opening in April.
GodIsCool
Iron Man doesn't open for 2 weeks. It won't have that big an impact on this. Oblivion has this week and next all to itself to make a nice bit of coin. Edited April 13, 2013 by GodIsCool
wileECoyote
Two weeks before IM3. No wonder they released iron so many territories at once. At least it'll hit 200 and maybe if it can hold up a little with IM3 and leg it maybe 250.
The Dark Alfred
Good start. Tom Cruise is box office God OS, no one can come anywhere close to him. His incredible streak continues, every film hit 100m in which he stared as a lead the past 25 years. Will Smith is obviously having huge hits, but come back when he makes 100m with the films like Collateral, Vanilla Sky, Eyes Wide Shut. A Marvel Fanboy
Hopefully it can have nice bumps everywhere on Sat/Sun and hit the middle 60M OW.
The Dark Alfred
He didn't lead, he had a supporting role. Oblivion is getting good WoM in the UK, it will break out hopefully in Asia.
kayumanggi
13.1 M Friday for a 23.1 M total so far. Maybe a 200 M - 250 M finish.
tommycruise
Well if the budget is only 130m and it makes 350m then Uni can't really be that dissapointed.
