fishstick
Will be the lowest grossing and the worst reviewed sci fi of 2013. Elyseum, PR, CF, STiD, Ender Game , Gravity, After Earth will all do much better. Edited April 12, 2013 by fishnets

You do realize there are plenty scifi flicks every year, right ? And how come Gravity, an experimental documentary-like drama, will outgross Oblivion ???? !!!! Moviedweeb
I don't think $300m overseas is unreasonable at all. I think the floor is $250m.
CJohn
It is over performing here. Just arrived from an almost full show at 9 PM. Over 300 people there. Tom Cruise saves the box office yet again. Jack Reacher also over performed here.

The Dark Alfred
Tom Cruise is still the biggest box office draw OS. Oblivion is off to good start in the UK.
John Marston
looks like good starts in the UK, Russia, Hong Kong and Portugal. France, Germany, and South Korea are the problems. Hope they can pick it up

fishstick
Johnny Depp trumps them all. Depp - 3 billion dollar movies. Smith and Cruise = ZERO. Cruise never cracked $700 mio WW. Ghost protocol still fell short of the mark.
Moviedweeb
The longevity of Cruise's career is incredible.

fishstick
He has talent and charisma. he definitely did not need TomKat embarrassment because picking up the dumbest Hollywood starlet was really insulting. From Nicole to I won`t bother to name that loser, just awful. At the height of his career. Why? Oh, well, thank goodness it`s over and Suri will bomb worse than Rumor Willis. Ozymandias
The longevity of Cruise's career is incredible. Yeah, theres like no one else I can think of that is still largely bankable after nearly 30 years.

Ghost protocol still fell short of the mark. Depp is a draw in a certain kind of movie - family Disney films in which he plays a comic character. Then he makes films like The Libertine and The Rum Diary and they die on their ass. Adjusted for inflation The Firm made over $500m WW. Let's see Depp propel a movie like that to those sorts of figures. Top Gun, Rain Man, War of the Worlds and the first two Mission: Impossible films all adjust to around $800m.
