Heretic
how well did it hold in the UK Don't know yet, but at the same point in time, ST09 was at $18.4m so it's keeping a healthy lead.
DarthPhil
Think it leaves IMAX this week, so will hopefully catch it one more time there.
wileECoyote
So I read a range of 210 to 250 tops. Uugh well below my 280 wish but at least it's going up by maybe 60%, so that's good news at least. Ball Lightning
Anything over 200m is amazing for a trek film and assures 400m WW. So it'll make a profit
kayumanggi
I think 250 M overseas is possible.

A Marvel Fanboy
Of course it wont break even in theaters. Most movies dont.
youknowwho
at all those who said this will do gangbusters OS coz of that action trailer... IMO, Star Trek franchise is dead for good

A Marvel Fanboy
most event films do , barring a few exceptions Not really. Take 2012 for example, out of the top 15 WW, I believe TA/Skyfall/IA5/BD2/Mad 3/THG/loP/Ted/LM broke even in theaters. That is 9. The rest 6 didnt or 40% didnt. You count down the rankings, the percentage of movies that didnt break even in theaters will be bigger and bigger. And it will reach close to 100% by the bottom. A Marvel Fanboy
Wait, how come TDKR didn't break even? It grossed 1B+ WW. Or you just forget to mention it? Nah, TDKR most likely didnt, so as Hobbit. TDKR total budget 400M+ DOM 448M x50% = 224M OS 636M x 25% = 160M 385M total revenue.

youknowwho
How is the franchise dead when this will be its highest OS grosser ever? STiD would barely increase 75% over the 1st one (which bombed miserably in OS) , even with 3D which is still popular outside US OS audience clearly don't give a damn abt ST , even if gets a sequel in 2016/17 i doubt if it can widen its appeal here
