keysersoze123
That is good but not great. It opened almost everywhere. I am not sure it includes Russia Previews but even if you take that out only major markets left out are Russia, China, Italy and Japan. Probably 300M in open markets and another 150 in left over markets. Extended weekends almost everywhere has helped. Assume there was no Avengers, how much would thor 2 would have increase. As a sequel it would have increased 30% with decent WOM. Here we are seeing another 20% bump on top of it. Avengers effect is there but not that pronounced compared to IM3.
druv10
so 90m opening maybe? No, Sat and Sun OS are much more massive. 120-125M is more likely.

Ent
If memories serves me well IM3 finished around $198M after those 5 days, which included China's take. So a $120/125 M during those 5 days opening without China is very good

Ent
IM3 didn't have China or Germany in its very first weekend OK still a $120m will suggest a 60% retention rate from IM3, hence $480-$490M, all things taken into perspective. Ent
IM3 didn't have China or Germany in its very first weekend Ok but it had others, Argentina, Japan, so all in all they are equally more or less the same
Ent
Yes. Would make sense. We will have a clearer view after the weekend, sseing if it play as IM3, a family movie with bigger increase during the weekend or not.
