Disney is celebrating its most successful year at the overseas box office, surpassing the $2.03 billion grossed by the studio's releases in 2010. The three day push from Thor: The Dark World in 36 territories brings Disney's overseas estimates in 2013 to $2.314 billion. This is Disney's fourth consecutive year of breaking the $2 billion mark in overseas box office.

Thor: The Dark World is entering the weekend with $45.2 million collected from 36 territories. The superhero sequel is on track to easily outperform its predecessor's overseas debut. Wednesday-Friday estimates are particularly strong in top markets like the United Kingdom ($7.8M), France ($5.8M), Germany ($4.1M), Australia ($2.9M), South Korea ($2.6M), and the Philippines ($2.6M). Other top markets are expected to boost business over the weekend, including Mexico ($1.9M), Brazil ($1.7M), and Russia ($1.5M).

Disney will certainly end up having both of its 2013 Marvel's products having an OS gross superior to the ww gross of its respective predecessor, with barely the same investment cost or a little bit over.

That's why they rejoice..

In 2015 they could reach $4B or $5B with The Avengers 2, Ant-Man, POTC5 and Finding Dory.

Disney has a really promising future.

5B is a bit to much :PBut TA2 and POTC5 could reach around 2B alone

It indeed is promising ...  Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and Disney ... Disney literally own half of the Hollywood entertainment industry ...

In 10 years, Disney probably could buy all the other Big Five (or big Six if Lionsgate count) once in all.

They also could buy some videogames producers, and as a result could have new franchise in theaters.

Let's imagine they can buy Nintendo...You could have a Mario movie, a Zelda movie, a Pokémon live movie...Yeah I dream a bit, but they have the money for that :P

They also could buy Ghibli or some Japanese magazines, owning famous manga franchises like Naruto or One Piece.

However I think they should create their own franchise as well, not just buying them out.
