Mojoguy
Brave held nicely. But that's the only good thing about the weekend.Brave is probably the least offensive movie out right now. I'm not surprised.
Fake
did anyone take a look at the holdovers numbers in the last Deadline update?? Ugh, This entire weekend at the box office is just fucking awfulYup. cory
Sensationalism sells in the news it always has. The difference is back then people had journalistic standards and integrity, now it's just let's see who can shout the loudest and what brings in the ratings. It's pretty sickening. This is why I only watched the stream of the Denver news station yesterday. They didn't sensationalize, they were very careful, didn't even show his face more than a handful of times. Focused on remembering the victims, and while I was watching they never once tried to connect the content of the movie to the shooting.

riczhang
I have feeling everything is going to drop hard this weekend. People do not want to go to the movies right now. The Olympics next week might hurt.I don't think the olympics will hurt, it's just starting next week so nothing really exciting is going to be on the telly. DAR
Blame the internet. News can't be controlled anymore. Anybody with an internet connection can spread news.I agree with that too. As wonderful as the internet can be, it can also be like the fucking wild west.

riczhang
Opening Ceremony is Friday afternoon in the states, so it won't really affect the evening shows which is where the real money is to be made.

That got me interesting at following the boxoffice in the first place.
