Sensationalism sells in the news it always has. The difference is back then people had journalistic standards and integrity, now it's just let's see who can shout the loudest and what brings in the ratings. It's pretty sickening.

This is why I only watched the stream of the Denver news station yesterday. They didn't sensationalize, they were very careful, didn't even show his face more than a handful of times. Focused on remembering the victims, and while I was watching they never once tried to connect the content of the movie to the shooting.

Spidey went up a bit from estimates. It was 11% and now 11.4

and Magic Mike crossed 100m. Not all bad.

Edit: Spidey was 14m. Ouch it dropped a lot. my bad.

I have feeling everything is going to drop hard this weekend. People do not want to go to the movies right now. The Olympics next week might hurt.

I don't think the olympics will hurt, it's just starting next week so nothing really exciting is going to be on the telly. (Olympics-wise)

Blame the internet. News can't be controlled anymore. Anybody with an internet connection can spread news.

I agree with that too. As wonderful as the internet can be, it can also be like the fucking wild west.

I must be an awful person but for some reason I dont feel too sorry for him.

His sister goes to a mate of mine's school, says she's a huge bitch. Don't feel sorry for him either. :P

"Hey I remember stopping at a gas station and buying a USA Today newspaper to see what the box office was for the weekend, that was the only way to get the numbers."Yeah I remember reading about TPM in the paper. It was around Spider Man 1 that I learned about box office mojo.com

TPM's opening and boxoffice run was absolutely epic. That got me interesting at following the boxoffice in the first place.
