Gopher
Muted Saturday bumps compared to last week. Still, Argo is down under 15%, which is ridiculously rare for a wide release adult movie in October.
SchumacherFTW
I love that PA is now below Saw's OW grosses at this point. The superior franchise will still rule in parts 2,4,5,6 and 7!!

forg
Still great hold for Argo :)Frankenweenie though :(Congrats to Taken 2 and Hotel Transylvania as well, their performances certainly made up for lackluster late August to mid-September! The Toymaker
$30m for a fourth movie is not bad, but $30m for a fourth movie in a franchise that has terrible legs is really bad. It might not even get to $60m because the legs are so bad. On the flipside, the budget was $5m, so $30m becomes a great number again. We could do this all day, going around in circles.Basically it's not a good number if you're a fan of the franchise, but if you're a studio exec, it's fine.

baumer
Besides Saw and PA, can you find another horror franchise that has done this well four episodes in? I think Final Destination is one, but before that, I'd say you'd have to go as far back as Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street. baumer
It should be able to pull in around 75M Domestic, then it's lights out and on to the Holiday movies and off to DVD/Blu-Ray World where the tagline for the Blu-Ray DVD Release will be like they did for PROMETHEUS: "All your questions will be answered for PA4 Extended Edition with an Alternate Ending type of bullshit.. It's not going to get a 2.5 multiplier bud. None of them have.
