Weekend (3 Days) admits in 3 Biggest countries.

 

China - Fate of the Furious - 36.7M

India - Baahubali: The Conclusion - 29M

USA - Avengers: Endgame - 24M

 

Detective Chinatown 3 may breach 40M mark this weekend.

 

PS. F8 opening weekend was massive in hindsight. Endgame 32.8M in its three biggest days of 5 days weekend, Wed + Fri + Sat. Endgame might have had come close to 40M in normal 3 days weekend.

2014 - ¥219M on 119K shows 

2015 - ¥367M on 126K shows (+68%)

2016 - ¥646M on 229K shows (+76%) (without Service Charge. ¥680M adjusted for Service Charge)

2017 - ¥806M on 316K shows (+19%)

2018 - ¥1277M on 393K shows (+58%)

2019 - ¥1458M on 520K shows (+14%)

 

2021 expecting ¥800-850M from DC3 may be. ¥275-325M from Hi, Mom. ¥110-125M Writer's Odyssey. ¥250-300M rest.

 

Overall ¥1435-1600M ($220-250M) on 475K shows may be.

Knowing Jat this is probably excluding Thursday and Canada, so 24M admits for ~$270M would be an OW ATP around 11, which makes sense with low 10s for full run ATP.

We have to wait to see the reception of the movie, but seeing anticipation and presales level I think there is a chance. And who knows if within some days we can talk about the chance of being the first $1b film ever in a single market.

 

For the moment, the OW could beat the $357m OW of Endgame DOM. Right now, presales for the whole weekend is at $95m.
