If it hits the billion, will $700m WW be possible? Other markets don't look so good. $150m China, $250 domestic. $300 is a long way to go.

I think $700 million worldwide is a modest estimate at this point.

Yes, I see. UK release date is 3/25 and not 2/17 (which I thought it was). Japan release in April. 700m is pretty locked.

What makes it more impressive is that there is almost no marketing for ZOO, no TV ads, I don't even see posters in cinemas.

Disney didn't think it would make gangbusters numbers like this.

KFP3 and minions are the most advertised animated movies.

ZOOTOPIA Wednesday will increase over Monday based on presales, have a shot at 40M yuan.

600M yuan might be reached on Sunday

40/40/50/120/110 optimistic projection :o

It seems like it's popular on the Chinese video sites, though.

I think the more important factor is KFP3 did not have anywhere close to the reception that Zootopia is getting. That is reflected in its legs. KFP3 had meh saturday increase in its OW when it had like 50% of screens. So its not just the release strategy.

KFP3 OD was 150M with previews and one week before CNY(semidead weekend).

Zootopia OD was 23M with a better release date..

The most important factor is the release date.No films can survive only 4% showtimes in 10 days.In fact,KFP3 only drop 30% after CNY.The WOM is Good. If they choose a right release,Normally,1.5B is within reach

New release set

Civil War ---- May 6

Do you have predictions on Ip Man 3 based on current drops trend? 1billion Yuan still possible?

Good release for Civil War IMO, set it early, marketing all that can start. Always better to be after the holiday than before, haha.
