It's like the battle of exo-boys.

Because last year only 3 films were released, 2 of them were awful (Monkey King 2 and Vegas to Macau 3).

Only Mermaid was good.

The pie is so big to be divided. I wouldn't be worried. I just hope Kung Fu Yoga flops because of what Jackie is doing to Railroad tigers. Hate dishonest people and fudging.

Why Hacksaw was so popular there? Is Baby Andrew super popular in China?

Japan killed 10m Chinese in Ww2 along with a centuries old rivalry.

R1 PS looking slow our of the gate.

Sub 695m/$100m looking likely so far.

4 films were released, 3 major ones. The division of showtimes next year among these movies will make it hard to have another huge hit.

@Olive Not trying to be political here, but has any film from North Korea has ever screened in Chinese theaters? also have you seen any film from North Korea?

We used to get 1-2 SK releases every years before, but 0 this year.

And no, no one has interest in any NK crap.

Pre-sales of Saturday
Railroad Tigers - 6.81M

Some Like It Hot - 6.55M

The Great Wall - 6.11M
See You Tomorrow - 4.15M
Hacksaw Ridge - 1.76M
Your Name - 0.37M

RT will become the winner of Saturday, even though its number is not "real". And... what a startling story, HR lost more than half of its showtimes this weekend again, but had a very strong increase on Friday (audience per showtime is about 35, which is definitely insane),  due to the pre-sale today, it will earn at least 10M based on only 2.8% of total showtimes.
