I guess that presales mean nothing for Wandering Earth and the previsions are still enormous. I say this because right now it ranks 6th among the 9 new releases of CNY and well behind of the 3 first.

China Film Group & Beijing Culture, the production companies & distributor behind The Wandering Earth, are too weak & stupid...They don't have strong abilities to fight for more screenings & showtimes on the opening day like other titles. So bless the film. Hope it will be great.(Early reactions are very positive. It was said this is a film about disaster. And Chinese always love this. 2012 was the highest-grossing film ten years ago, beating TF2.)

Wandering Earth looks okay. If IMDb score is above 7.5, will watch it.

Watched Wolf Warrior 2 last year, it was meh. Can't believe it did that much in China.

Ideally, DP 2 should have done $125-200mn in China IMO, but its long-delayed release and piracy would have done its job. Even if not piracy, it been over 6 months since the film was released digitally.

On Douban, there are 157k votes for the film with a rating of 7.5 as compared to 257k votes for Ant-Man and The Wasp. That's not a big difference for a film that wasn't released there, in other words, the film is already watched there.

Standart Midpoint for BB suggests 23 mill today.

But yesterday suggested 25 and only did 22,3. Midpoint has been steady around 4,30 pm for a very long time. I have no idea why it should move to 3,45pm suddenly

 

So im going with 20,5-21 mill
