Usual Anime Legs are 2.4x~3,4,5

 

Doraemon 2021 had 5x plus from ¥19M WKend.

 

Suzume OW was heavily boosted by constant Promotion &Marketing. So, it might even miss 2x. I heard this gonna be a Weekend Heavy Movie but fingers crossed at this moment 

 

WOM is in par with Weathering With You. (Slightly better)

Suzume Legs isn't much concerning as other regions Numbers &WOM has increased from Weathering With You

 

In fact, Korea Trend - 1st WKend < 2nd WKend < 3rd WKend.

 

So, I am still keeping some hope that China could be better with Titanic &Conan 2002 being the only competition against it's hold in the Market ~

I agree Suzume has a better story than WwY but it is also the visual wise it is actually the weakest entry for Shinkai's movie. Overall the movie lack of a scene that awestrike me visually.

China is rejecting everything from Hollywood barring Avatar. If Guardians flop similar to Ant 3 then we cay see China dream is done. I expect only few movies pushing hard for China release.

East Asia was always moving away from Hollywood. Starting from Japan, then Korea &China and finally this year - Hong Kong &Taiwan. 

 

Hard to say what content will work but for sure Marvel won't be working like previous Phases.

Fast X &Transformer can do good numbers

FX is the next big one and hopefully Transformers is as well received as bumblebee move was and it explodes as well. Not sure about Oppenheimer but MI7 should do well. I want to see at least 1 2B Yuan grosser this year :-)

MI7 should do well.

 

I don't think FX could make big money like before. Part of F8's success was based on the the good willing that F7 built. F9 didn't get any benefit from that with bad WOM.

hard to know. 

 

But I think IMAX is a good measure index. IMAX China CEO says it made $53M from IMAX in China. More than 1/5 of the total gross. Most movies only had ~10%.
