This is a bit counter-intuitive but if they are doing musicals then they are more likely to be time conscious and are more likely to make an effort to manage the clock. riczhang Posted February 24, 2013 Author Share Posted February 24, 2013 Well the ceremony without any musical numbers, except for a short introduction, and maybe one performance at most runs for about 3.25-3.5 hours. They've practically got the shortest ceremony they could possibly get without making the speeches like 15 seconds. And, I'll admit it. I actually prefer longer speeches. For many of these people, it's their only chance at glory, it's their night. It's about the industry honouring the industry and the 45 second speech length enforced by the Academy is just ridiculous.
