If Stannis was a POV and instead we just followed some close associate of Dany's, the general fan opinion of the characters would be inversed. Getting inside a person's head does wonders for making them sympathetic. Biggest example: Jaime.

 

If Stannis had a POV, he'd probably be my favorite non-Tyrell/Tyrion character.

Who is that? I can't even remember. 

 

Btw, hearing some great things about Stannis in S5. 

 

Duck is a member of the group Tyrion meets in the front third of Book 5.

 

He's the most amiable and earnest of Griff's crew and at the end of Book 5 has been elevated by "Aegon" to be one of his Kingsguard.

 

Always nice to hear great things about Stannis.
