  1. I'm not so sure Impact about War Horse getting a nom. I mean it is very likely, but we shall see.
  2. 1. The Hobbit (sorry TDKR, but The Hobbit just owned you)2. TDKR3. Titanic 3D4. The Avengers5. Beauty and the Beast 3D6. Brave7. TPM 3D8. The Hunger Games9. The Amazing Spider-Man10. Skyfall
  3. I have a feeling this will be better than TDK. We might not get a performance as amazing as Ledger's, but I think as a whole this film is going to blow us away.
  4. Part of the reason might also be that films like Real Steel probably only play on one screen whereas a hit like DH2 is playing on 4+ screens, thus, the amount of people showing up per screening is less.
  5. Snape killing Voldemort would have been an epic ending. I agree with you. I felt DH, the book was rushed. That, or JKR didn't know how to end the series. Probably both.
  6. Man, I need to start compiling data again for this thread. Sucks that so much was lost with BOM. Anyway, MI4 has a most impressive IMAX opening.
  7. I think The Hobbit is the most under-estimated film next year, at least on a DOM level.
  8. Oscar bait just isn't as strong this year. The front runner is a B&W silent film.
  9. Many, many people didn't get a chance to see the preview show that wanted to. First, it was only at 36 theaters. Second, most of the tickets went by fast. Third, many people didn't know they had a Tuesday sneak preview.
  10. Harry Potter has received the recognition it deserved. First and foremost, it is an excellent book series and in the book area it has received every award imaginable plus the sales to join it.The movies have been a mixed bag, and as such don't deserve the recognition you want Noctis. However, you do have your theme park, and that is impressive. Harry Potter while great books just aren't on LOTR quality as far as movies are concerned. The way I look at it, the movies are 2.5 hour long commercials for the books which is where the content is really at. Just my two cents.
  11. It's a depressing year for movies in general. I wondered what happened to Hollywood this year.
  12. I think at least 30% of moviegoers for MI4 went for the prologue. Nonetheless, it looks M4 might be the only saving grace this winter aside from BD1. And, I honestly don't think Tin Tin will do well DOM. No general movie goer I know seems to care or even know what Tin Tin is for that matter. It might get good DVD/BD sales though.
  13. I'm pretty sure Catwoman will end up being a gray character in this film. Also, what is up with the word rise and rises coming up so often? We hear it in the first six minutes. It's in the teaser and even this trailer. Heck, the title is The Dark Knight Rises. Although, in the film, it seems to hint that Bane is rising. But, in my opinion, Bane is being controlled by the Al Ghul clan whether he realizes it or not. I wonder if we will see Ra's come back from the dead. Not likely. I am fairly certain though that Talia Al Ghul will play an important role, but Nolan is going to keep that a secret.
  14. I understood Watanabe, but I only understood a couple of things Bane said the first time. I'm not a fan of how hard he is too hear.
  15. Darn! It looks like I missed out on Beauty and the Beast. Now, that is a given investment. lol
  16. My take: This is an odd year for movies. Critics are liking The Artist a lot, but no one really knows what film to root for. These SAG noms prove it. I think that actually things might turn around by the time the Oscars come. Also, I think all the love The Artist is getting might backfire. That happened with Up in the Air and The Social Network recently. So, you never know. I don't know if that would mean The Descendants can sneak in the win, or if another film comes out of nowhere and wins BP.Anyway, I just think this might be an odd year for Oscars and harder to predict than some of us may think.
  17. So, what was up with the whole blood transfusion thing. That made no sense to me.
  18. So, did they say that the prologue might be changed? Did the TDK prologue vary audio wise from the actual film? Just wondering because of the Bane reports. I know that IMAX usually makes it hard to make out what people are saying. Also, Jim Gordon was sort of hard to make out dialogue wise. I sure hope the final film doesn't end up this way where we have to watch it multiple times just to understand the fricking words. Maybe, that is their strategy to get repeat viewings lol.
  19. I don't get it. What does WB hope to gain from this? Certainly not more DVD/BD sales, since Harry Potter has already sold most of what it is going to sell. It won't gain another $100M in DVD sales because of this. So, what does WB have to gain? Why?
  20. Looks like Hugo is gaining a lot of traction now. I think it will end up with a nom after all.
