  1. What time are they being announced today?
  2. Im going for six. Argo, Lincoln, Zero Dark Thirty, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Django Unchained
  3. Drops of 40% will result in a final gross of ~305m.
  4. There is quite a large discrepancy between US voters and non-US voters for Zero Dark Thirty. On IMDB the movie currently has a score of 7.4, US voters giving a score of 7.9 and non-US giving 7.1. It also has a large percentage of people giving it zero so it seems to be a love or hate type film. Personally I hated the hurt locker because it was simply boring, not at all suspenseful so I have no interest in seeing Bigelow's latest film.
  5. 1. Argo2. Django Unchained3. Zero Dark Thirty4. Life of Pi5. Silver Linings Playbook
  6. Tried to see life of pi yesterday and it was sold out...
  7. the hobbit definitely a good chance here
  8. Just got back from seeing in IMAX 3D 48 fps, was a packed cinema. For those who get the chance I do recommend seeing in it 3D 48 fps and the image quality is crystal clear and easy on the eyes. Definitely an improvement over 24 fps just takes a little while to get use to.
  9. Im seeing it tonight with about 5 friends in imax 3D 48 fps, looking forward to it.
  10. There are 8 films currently out that hold a imdb rating of 7.5 or more, which is ridiculous. The amount of quality here may make it hard for any film to stand out.
  11. I Am Legend was released at the 14th of december just like the hobbit. Its second weekdays were 25-50% larger than its first week with the exception of christmas eve. The hobbit should drop a sub 20% sunday and with the exception of christmas eve could have 8-11m weekdays for its second week. Also I am Legend only dropped 18.2% on its third weekend after dropping 56.6% on its second. So if it follows this it should be at 215-230m by its third weekend.
  12. Hey guys, its been a very long time since I last posted. I've been following this thread and I'am surprised that few people have mentioned the imdb score currently sits on 8.7 and currently sits at 85 in the top 250, its also slowly going up the 250. This should have great WOM. No doubt when the more general viewers come in the imdb score will go down but it already has ~50 thousand votes and should settle soundly above a 8.0.
  13. I'm looking forward to this but at the same time dread how much a disaster this could be. As long as James Cameron is given a free range to do what he wants, and he should be by now, it will be good.
  14. David Yates is a terrible director who destroyed the last four films of Harry Potter.Prometheus is one of the best SF films iv seen in the last 5 years.
  15. Every twilight film! How does such a bad franchise do so well? Honestly is beyond me.
  16. Really surprised with the overwhelming pick of catwoman. SJ did a really good job as black widow and was sexy as hell!
  17. He is a very monotone director. ALL his films feel very similar to each other. If he can show he can do other film types that are good then yes I will concede him being among great directors.
  18. Its the same mood/intensity that makes a film suffer if it is goes on to long. There was no clear cut climax or stand out moment, its sort of flat if you can understand that. That's why I think the previous Dark Knight was much superior.
  19. IMO the movie was a little slow and dull at parts, maybe i was just a little tired at the midnight screening. Should have been trimmed a bit more. Also could of done with some more comic relief! Don't understand how this film is getting 9.2 on imdb. I would give it an 8/10
  20. I'm very surprised at the rating on Imdb of 9.2, I thought it would be much lower and im usually a good judge about where most films will land. I think it should finish closer to 8.6-8.7 as right now there will be a lot of fanboy votes.
