A sinister King, with ulterior motive of wanting to get back at the surface world - played by William Dafoe. Mentor of Aquaman, well-versed in Martial Arts - Played by Dolph Lundgren (who has genuine martial arts background). Love the film but honestly these 2 roles can switch.

It must survive this weekend first - Thugs of Hindostan opening on Friday - Mo Jin: Worm Valley opening on Sat - The Morning After opening on Sat - Long Day's Journey into the Night opening next Monday (presales already over 100m) And then Bumblebee opens the following Friday on Jan 4th... If any of these 2 films break out - will be a big threat to Aquaman's run in its extension. Plus the screen counts will become pathetic by then with so many openers. Honestly, i don't think the impact will be huge with the extension. But i hope to be proven wrong.

Just to clarify - Aquaman's showings will be extended until Feb 6th, 2019. Compared to usual Hollywood's 1 month period, Aquaman will be shown for 2 months.

William Dafoe has the worst performance in the entire film. not even kidding - he looks so out of place, and his smile looks like he is a villain waiting to stab Aquaman in the back anytime in the movie...

Reviews in Singapore and Malaysia are bad compared to Hong Kong and China. But despite the good online reviews in HK and China - i don't think WoM is that good; a lot of people who purchases tickets are fans of Dave Bautista/Max Zhang(or even Max Zhang's wife who is far more famous than him)/Michelle Yeoh so I am not surprised about the online reviews for now. Also... Raymond Wong - the producer created the Ip Man franchise starring Donnie Yen which propelled him into stardom. But this is just a spin-off where Yen did not even have a cameo; if this is part of the main Ip Man series starring Yen, we could be looking at more than 100m yuan 1st day(based on Ip Man 3's opening of 150m in 2016 March). But as this is a spin off with no real stars, and some audiences are puzzled why "Ip Man" is in the title without Ip Man himself appearing; some feel that this is made to con money. I don't think it will even hit even 80m yuan total

Maoyan is at 9.3, compared to Aquaman's current score of 9.4. I think the maoyan score will likely drop to around 9. I think Spiderverse will do okay but i don't see a huge breakout like Coco.
