  1. I felt there were some pacing problems. The first act needed to be about 15 minutes longer. My reactionary tweet actually sums up how I feel very well. @TannerStechnij: THE MARTIAN: A nice, average movie elevated to near perfection with levity and a sense of hope. Takes no risks but, ultimately, that's fine.
  2. I'm sorry! I very much wanted to love it, but it never works for me. I'm sure you'll think differently. Most do.
  3. There were so many great parts to this, but it could never tie them together. Del Toro is evil. No way around that. Cish? 6/10?
  4. They can get BP noms too. A few have in the expanded category.
  5. Yeah. I like this line-up a lot. It just needs Inside Out!
  6. What if Spielberg got in here and not best picture? The fifth spot seems so wide open and Boyle is a weak filler. Nemes or Miller would be such inspired choices and something only the director branch would be capable of doing.
  7. lol I love Kate but girl is pretty damn basic. Lawerence is great even thought I'm not sure I buy into her stick. Both are getting nominated though.
  8. Extremely Hard and Incredible Close, The Help and War Horse would like to have a word with you. lol fuck me. I just bashed the year I thought I liked. We are talking about 2010. Yes, the selection was good, but nothing was really excellent besides The Socail Network. I don't get Winter's Bone, but it is probably the second best of that year followed by Toy Story 3 then Inception.
  9. I don't particularly care about blockbusters I guess. The Oscar slate is weak. I'm not high on Black Swan though and I don't think The King's Speech holds up as well as it could. Meanwhile I really enjoyed 2011: Hugo, The Artist, <3 Tree of Life <3, Moneyball and A Seperation
  10. Yeah. World premiered at TIFF. Hiddleston is great, Olsen is fantastic, the film is terrible.
