    I have been so out of the MCU loop (bc I don't care that much anymore) that I didn't even realize it was supposed to come out today originally.

    Does anyone know if there's trailers before the re-release of Phantom Menace? (Probably, right? But I think special re-releases are hit and miss)? I'm going with someone who may have seen the OT when it first came out, and 7/9, but not the prequels, so I'm counting on being on time for that opening crawl.

    I appreciate this but at the end of the day, Disney has to make this - and most of - their movies palatable to the largest audience. I will give them a sliver of credit that they haven't really sanitized TLK retroactively and still keep the slightly more serious tone. (Haven't seen 2019 but did watch a fair bit of Lion Guard)

    I do really like that logo. I didn't know there was a front end or even a business to BOT, I thought we were just a subsection of people on the internet way too into numbers and guesswork. I do remember following you on LI Shawn, am I right in thinking you had a few appearance on Box Office Podcast?

    Scar is the bad guy in the original movie, I don't know if we can trust his viewpoint. Hell, even if we could, I can see this story ending up as "It doesn't matter where you come from, but who you grow to be", as being nobility doesn't mean you're good, and being orphaned doesn't mean you're bad or something.

    Yeah I've only seen bits and pieces on television of 2019; This looks a bit more lively, and being a new story makes me more lenient.

    I still think it's so odd that's in December. I get the logic behind it but Dec is looking crowded. if next April is free, the first week or so like for 2/SMB...

    Hm! Not bad. Also don't care if they're not biological brothers, blood relations =/= family. Does it take away a bit of potency from THAT scene? Maybe.

    I didn't even buy her as a femme fatale in the trailers, you're telling me she's supposed to be in her 30s AND someone's mother on top of that? Oh wow. I'm more curious to see this to see if it would have worked just as well as "young people in a jealous triangle with the woman out bc of an injury".

    The more I read about this from people who know the cultural references the more I think the kind of rapid first 25 or so minutes does it a disservice because you're just a little too worn out to gather all of the information before you can make the connections because they're very smart and I'm impressed at how it ties together. But it's already on PVOD so I can watch the training montage the movie again.

    We're getting back into "Ok I don't know these people" realm for me.....and then I realized I never saw Episode 1 where half the antagonists for E7 were mentioned.

    We have 3 theaters and the Pixar re-releases were only playing at 1 They seem to have realized better and 2/3 are at least getting Phantom Menace next week. also Iger is going to speak at....Canva Con or whatever they call it. Is that why every decent-looking asset is behind the premium paywall? They have to pay him to speak?

    Thought about this at 2 AM this morning. I'd say if you ask people who know more about Dreamworks movies outside of "I have a child", you'd get: Prince of Egypt Megamind maybe Kung Fu Panda Shrek 2

    I should probably read the book before I watch it. Not that it'll be 1:1 accurate (Home, Dragons, Captain aren't), but out of curiosity. Dreamworks probably could have made a competent Mistmantle movie.

    I'm on the fence about going to see this, but I might enjoy it more than everyone who saw Ready or Not...because I haven't seen it.

    I hope they use some of the music from the movie because I always liked this one (though I'm learning it wasn't made for the movie. So probs not)
