  1. James Cameron has earned the right to take his time to develop these Avatar sequels. Much of the problem of blockbusters is that they simply don't have enough time in all facets of production. Release dates are set before any development of the films are done. It's why I hope the Avatar sequels will be even better than the first one (which I like but don't love the way I love some of Cameron's other films) because he's taken 10 years to get them ready.
  2. I really enjoyed The Dragon Prince Season 2 but I'm a tad annoyed the seasons are so short. Reminded me of when Voltron was releasing 7 or 8 episode seasons. Also heard good things about She-Ra and the Princesses of Power so might check that out next.
  3. This was the most predictable win for this Oscars for me. But super happy for Rami Malek
  4. I think it was more the underperformance of The Princess and the Frog that killed 2D Animation for Disney Animation considering how much better Tangled performed the year after.
  5. I'm also quite nostalgic over The Magic Roundabout film too. Would watch it endlessly as a kid even though the dvd quality was poor.
  6. Probably not the most original answer but The Avengers I'll always be able to rewatch endlessly. I think partly cause I associate it with the real start of my movie fandom and probably wouldn't be on BoT if not for that movie Any of the golden era Pixar films I can go back and rewatch and still love them even though most are now over 10 years old.
  7. I mean it's partly true. But OS expansion in Asia can make up the difference anyway.
  8. Well I saw this is in January so my memory of the whole film is a tad fuzzy but I can definitely say that while predictable it ends the trilogy in a satisfying manner by focusing on the relationships of the characters which is why I love HTTYD in the first place.
  9. Really happy for HTTYD 3. Very good ending to the whole trilogy and hopefully will get close to HTTYD 2's Domestic Total.
  10. The problem is the film seems like it's trying to be faithful to the animated film except they're changing the most popular aspect of the animated version with the Genie. Knowing that Robin Williams was unfortunately not going to reprise his role they should have just tried to do a whole different take of Aladdin instead of trying to bank of people's nostalgia of the animated version while also changing the thing they liked the most.
  11. Cause Cap Marvel has had a far longer pre-sales run than the other films I expect it'll start to fall behind most of them except Infinity War which cause it's run was long too Cap Marvel is actually gaining some ground on it (relatively speaking). Actually if Cap Marvel ends up getting a Thursday Night Preview Number similar to Deadpool 2 that's actually a very good result.
  12. 1. Avengers: Endgame 2. Us 3. Jojo Rabbit 4. Detective Pikachu 5. Captain Marvel 6. Frozen 2 7. The Lion King 8. John Wick: Chapter 3 9. Star Wars: Episode IX 10. Spider-Man: Far From Home
  13. I still remember watching Iron Man 3 on ANZAC Day with about 15 other high school friends. Can't believe 6 years have gone by since then.
  14. Agree with @Barnack that fandom is pretty much like sports these days with box office and "audience scores" the rules of determining which side has the "upper hand". It's alright if it's in good fun (I'm definitely not above it) but it easily devolves into toxicity especially with the anonymity of the internet.
  15. Even worse in the early 2000s after Disney bought Pixar they considered shutting down WDAS altogether and just have Pixar as the sole animation studio. Fortunately smarter heads prevailed.
