  1. Huzzah, i'm not the only one! Hugo was a wonderful piece of cinema!
  2. Just ordered the stupidest film in history, that you guys in America will nevet have the pleasure of seeing. ANUVAHOOD!!! So stupid and bad that it's downright hilarious!
  3. I didn't just buy F1 2011 on PS3 so I could play it on manual gears....

  4. his belief is divide the american number by 10, and change the symbol from $ to £
  5. Now this is a very tricky question. Both Rings and TDK redefined what their respective genres were capable of, and transcended the boundaries of both from both critical and economic standpoints. Both have rabid sets of fanboys. Both have new and improved tools at their disposal (3D, 48fps and IMAX respectively). I honestly couldn't tell you which has more riding on it. I think at this moment, with all things considered a Batman failure in any way, shape or form next summer has the ability to cause a massive kneejerk ripple through the industry. Just picture how insane and panicked every single exec in hollywood would go if next years most solid sure fire hit were to underperform like many sequels this year. It would be chaotic to say the least, espescially if it's a critical darling.
  6. It's a shame it wasn't gone, Real Steel deserved far more than it got in my opinion, tremendous fun, even if it was almost literally Rocky with Robots.
  7. De Niro in it has me cracking up to this day, without fail. Love it.As for the topic at hand, the area I live in is exceptionally average when it comes to the box office here. I guess Date Night when I saw it seemed like it was going to be bigger than it actually was.
  8. I forgot this was coming, anything with Blake Harrison or any of The Inbetweeners in is required viewing in my circle of friends.
  9. We only opened on IMAX screens on weds, we'll be lucky if the Guardian analysis early next week gives us the numbers, as opposed to lumping it in to the 7 day weekend it's about to have here (Monday to Sunday will get reported as the weekend gross)
  10. Seeing as i'm stuck on the M11 as a bored passenger, may as well do a belated report Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol - The IMAX Experience 12/21/2011 13:00 BFI London IMAX 500 seater sell out Trailers Puss in Boots - Some laughs, especially when he's chasing the light. Strange trailer to have as it's been out for a few weeks now. Star Wars Episode I - A lot of chattering, hearing THAT music out of THOSE speakers is bloody mesmerising. John Carter - Seemed fairly quiet, i'm sold. These were followed by.... The Dark Knight Rises Prologue I thought it was awesome, as did my friend. The rest of the crowd seemed pleased as it got a round of applause at the end of it. Movie I thought it was awesome. Considering that this is the first Mission Impossible movie i've seen all the way through, I had no problem keeping up. The action was awesome as to be expected, and the scenes on the Burj Khalifa were absolutely incredible, real heart in mouth stuff. Gave me bloody vertigo. The cast were great, Pegg was great for comic relief, the woman was hot and Renner did the job. But Cruise. He's back, he is BACK! Pure awesome from him. Start to finish. Have to admit, my only problem with the film was the villain being a bit underdeveloped, which is a shame as I was really looking forward to seeing Mikael Nyqvist's first blockbuster (I loved him as Blomqvist in the swedish dragon tattoo). Overall though, an awesome action movie to send the year out on, and an incredible experience in IMAX. A The crowd again seemed pleased with the movie as it also got a round of applause at the end, and there were more than a few kind words on the way down the stairs afterwards. This will at least have a damn good run in IMAX.
  11. Don't diss Liam Neeson, he's monumentally epic!!
  12. Meant I had to take a trip to London on weds. Worth it
  13. I can't choose between South Park, American Dad!, Futurama and King of the Hill. So tough!
  14. It does seem like Avatar's launch two years ago was the exception and not the rule. Even with it being quite for this weekend, I still don't get why Tron launched so poorly last year. How many films is your cinema being filled with from boxing day Phillip?
  15. Loved American Dad! And Family Guy this year. A bit disappointed by most of South Park, but the episode immediately the summer break was brilliant. Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother were great as well. Loved True Blood as well. There hasn't been a great deal else that I saw this year that didn't involve sport in some way.
  16. Damn you WB, why must you make the wait for July 20th that much longer with a trailer that EPIC?!

  17. Just looked at my local 6 screen for boxing day onwards. After 7pm, only 3 films are showing. MI4, Holmes 2 and Dragon Tattoo are showing on two screens a piece. Expected for Holmes and MI4, but bodes even better for Dragon Tattoo, the buzz must be there, and the cineworld must be confident.
  18. It's getting to the point where redbox and iTunes will be the places to guage how big a film is. Give it 5 years...
  19. All the overseas OW numbers are more than 3 days. In the UK we got Avatar the evening of December 16th as an example.
  20. Hmm. Lets see.1. TRON: Legacy2. The Social Network3. Tangled4. How To Train Your Dragon5. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo6. Scott Pilgrim Vs The World7. Inception8. The Kings Speech9. Get Him To The Greek10. Unstoppable
