At the moment the Biggest 18 launch is 6m for Hannibal, Brüno is second with £5m. Considering this will become a 7 day weekend, I think £8m would be a good launch.
It benefits from being the only 100% adult release on the Horizom, coupled with a hugely popular book and at least 2 weeks without competition, it should do well. Biggest 18 rated film since Brüno?
It seemed to be doing alright whenever I was in the lobby in crawley yesterday before it started (which occured with every single film I saw yesterday)
Beyond my top 2 this year (Hugo and Tinker Tailor), I can't decide even close to a top ten.
That includes:
Tintin
Senna
TT3D: Closer to the Edge
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Puss in Boots
Harold and Kumar
Real Steel
Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part II
Rango
The Inbetweeners Movie
Thor
X-Men
Immortals
Breaking Dawn
Too many films, not enough spots.
You enjoyed that? I walked after an hour or so, when Lea Michele and Bon Jovi start singing. Went to see Harold and Kumar for a second time today instead (yes, i'm an H&K fanboy)
I don't actually remember a tipping point, i've always been watching movies, be it the Saw movies now or the old Disney VHS tapes that my dad used to buy on the US army camps in Germany when I lived there as a toddler. A trip to the cinema gets me just as excited now as it did back when I went to see movies like Space Jam.
I know, but as shown last time, he's biggest in the English speaking world, shown by the massive grosses in the UK and Australlia, and the 53% Domestic take. I'm guessing this will shift the balance, but not a huge amount.
