  1. Every time I learn more and more about this movie, it sounds more and more like the perfect Lois & Clark film.
  2. While I was searching for something I had posted in this thread last year, I came across this post with pics of the then Ranger hopefuls. Not one but TWO of these PR rejects got cast on the new Archie show Riverdale (KJ Apa and Ross Butler as Archie and Reggie respectively).
  3. Rumors of Angela Lansbury joining too. And yay for Outstanding Drama, Writing and Direction. Hopefully Lena wins next year, she should have the meatiest material (probably for anyone on the show yet) and if most of us are right, it will be her last chance.
  4. Yeah, I've watched 5 cm too. I agree with that assessment. The concept of Your Name sounds intriguing so I wonder if it his strongest work yet. Have heard a lot about Garden of Words too. He is no Miyazaki, Takahata or Kon but I'm happy that he is finding this kind of success. As for Hosoda, I've only watched Wolf Children, which was great. I've heard the rest of his work have their flaws so didn't prioritize watching them yet.
  5. How weird is it that just seeing the poster of Your Name made me instantly remember The Place Promised In Our Early Days, a film I had completely forgotten watching about six years back. And turns out they are from the same director! Looks like I should visit the rest of Makoto Shinkai's filmography.
  6. Nooo, Viola needs to finally get her dues! In all fairness though, you don't have to worry. If not this year, then I think Emma will bag it next year for Battle of the Sexes.
  7. He returned (with amnesia) in the New 52. Also regained his memories just before Rebirth hit.
  8. Ooh so this is making its date after all, eh? Holidays could be a bloodbath with this vs. Rogue One and Sing vs. Moana
  9. Only fitting that he was in the last great one. He's doing pretty well for himself though. He's not interested in blockbusters except for certain exceptions. And now he's heading into the producing/writing business.
  10. Ugh those Bridget numbers. Now some trash outlets will never shut up about Renee destroying her career by changing her "trademark face" or some similar shit.
  11. The only instance that comes to mind is when Disney trolled Don Bluth and re-released The Little Mermaid when Anastasia released, way back in 1997. I have a strong feeling Disney will pull the "Sing Along version" card from its sleeve for Moana a little after Sing releases. Sooner than they did it for Frozen.
  12. I loved The Halloween Tree. It was a 90's annual tradition to watch it when it aired on Cartoon Network. The "Nothing but theatrical releases" rule left out a lot of DCAU movies in the cold as well.
  13. After making and posting the list, I realized I had forgotten Inside Out! It happens.

  15. It's virtually the same multiplier as IM2 lol, the SS equivalent of the MCU (third entry of interconnected universe) and had even opened a little lower than Squad. IM2 doesn't even have the pardon of being an "non-entity property at the time" like IM1, it was supposed to be the hotly anticipated sequel.
  16. A combo of 133M opening and close to 2.4 multiplier at end of run for a superhero flick is obviously a result of horrendous lack of goodwill and miserable WOM yo'
  17. Ron Howard too. Regarding Ben, I see grey ghost may have been talking specifically about actors who almost completely retire acting for directing, but if Affleck decides to make that choice, there's nothing to suggest from his past directorial efforts that he wouldn't succeed.
