I think that the movie doesn't make you cry as you're watching it, but once the finale kicks in and you see the figurative rejoining of the spirits, you just loose it.

I've cried a few times recently:

[*]Les Miserables. I loved the fuck out of this movie, and I can't stop crying during it. Fantine's Death, Gavroche's Death, Empty Chairs, Javert's Soliloquy, "To Love another Person, is to see the face of God," the Epilogue, and etc. 

[*]Amour. Near end as Georges and Anne leave as a couple, completely uninvalided. 

[*]Weekend. Where Russell and Glen meet for one last time and Glen giving Russell the tape recorder

I'm forgetting a ton right now. 

 

I highly suggest you watch Bridge To Terabithia. It's a kids movie, but DAMN.

While Amour held my interest perfectly fine on two viewings I definitely understand why some people would find the movie insufferable.

Bridge to Terabithia the book had a huge impact on me as a kid. Very powerful. The movie...yeah not so much, but that may be due to knowing what was coming and being a lot older.

I cried in Rocky Balboa...when he gives the speech to his son about how winning is done.  Tears of pride, joy, I'm not sure, but it hit me.
