Early Tuesday estimates DM2 4.7 previews

Recommended Posts

Was TS3 midnight shows though? 7 PM vs. midnight is a world of difference. Still a good start for DM2.

Yeh TS3 was midnight-only.Pretty much everything pre-Aurora was midnight-only and this whole "previews" saga has escalated since then.

Also opening last night was Disney’s Lone Ranger starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer and directed by Gore Verbinski began with an unimpressive $2M late shows. But tracking has been stronger than expected. Now the question is whether the Western will be able to cover its high-priced $215M cost when it opens wide today in 3,700 theaters. Meanwhile Fandango reports that as of 7 AM Despicable Me 2 is scooping up 71% of Wednesday morning’s ticket sales. According to a Fandango survey of more than 1,000 DM2 ticket-buyers, the little yellow guys are the draw – and a whopping 91% are already looking forward to seeing the minions spin-off in 2014.

So 400M is not happening after all.

350M should be the target.

Long live Ironman 3.

You can't say that just based on Early Opening/Midnight Numbers wait till the end of the Weekend to make that statement.

The 3D animated event pic grossed a stellar $4.7 million, while Disney's big-gamble Western -- headliningJohnny Depp and Armie Hammer -- took in $2 million.

Despicable Me 2 cost a modest $76 million to produce, while Lone Ranger cost at least $250 million.

With FF6, DM2 and a few small movies being so successful this year, RIPD and 47 Ronin have to bomb hard for Universal to keep the personality in balance ...

RIPD looks it'll bomb big time, any profits made by FF6 and DM2 will have to cover the horrendous losses by RIPD. 47 Ronin also is DoA, its been delayed twice which is never a good omen,
