CJohn
And at his 3rd weekend, this is a non-factor over here. It is doing below Grace of Monaco's 2nd weekend, Neighbors 4th weekend, Underdogs first weekend (animation) and The Chef (also opening this weekend). I am not even going to talk about the difference between it and X-Men/EoT.

IT'S NOT HAPPENING China won't make more than 80m thanks to the compeition. Japan won't support it after opening weekend once they see it. Omni
It's not likely yo reach 250M OS from current markets. Not after a low 30's week. More like 30/35M or so. And 200M dom isn't going to be easy. So it needs around 140M from China+Japan - as Bishop said, not too easy.
Bishop54
How?250M Current Markets370M OS (80M China, 40M Japan)570M WW Look, I'm a huge fan of the film as well but you've got to be a little realistic. Godzilla only has a 13 day run in China until Trans4mers comes knocking, $80M will be very difficult to achieve. Also where is your confidence in Japan coming from? Sure they are a little more positive about the film then a few months ago but they shunned Pacific Rim there and giant monster movies haven't been popular there in some time. Goffe
after just two weeks, Godzilla almost disappeared from theaters around here, it is a negative record for a blockbuster I think.

Tower
Can you blame it when X-Men opened to $170M OS? Of course you can, films have managed to deal with bigger competition than that without falling so quickly.

I see only $230 mln from current markets + over $100 mln from China and Japan = max. $350 mln OS + around $195 mln DOM = $550 mln WW at best.
