Watched American Hustle. Loved the movie. But I have to say, I don't get the awards talk for JLaw's performance in the movie. Bale and Adams have acted circles around Lawrence in this movie. The cameo got applause at my screening.

I'm lukewarm on the film overall. Prefer The Wolf of Wall Street.  Jlaw  was the biggest bright star for me. I perked up every time she was on screen. My audience went crazy for her. Word is she received the most enthusiastic response at the AMPAS screening. If she didn't just win last year the statue would be hers. I thought Adams was miscast. I didn't care for her at all. I probably would have enjoyed the film more with a different lead actress. I normally like her, but in this she seem out of her depth.

I'm loving it how Frozenites are clinging to that hope...  ^_^

This will be the last day that DOS is ahead of Frozen. It will also finish about 100 mill behind Frozen.

I think everybody understands that. You cannot compete with a family movie in terms of legs. Let us have the little victories at least. ;)

But holds over the weekend were different from 2002 so I'll remain cautious and go with 7M+ and just be pleasantly surprised if it overperforms. Posted Image

They were pretty close.

I hope Paranormal takes the next one. Then after that Frozen can be number 1.

No, Paranormal needs to bomb because I need some wins after I lost a buttload of points (by .4m!!) in the casino for saying Frozen would be number 1.

I WAS SO CLOSE

If Paranormal can bomb I'll get all the points I lost back.

Wow, Frozen just barely lost the weekend, I think Frozen has a GREAT chance at winning New Years now.

It depend on PA. It's going to be close between them.

You guys are basing the numbers off last year and that is no good as last year's Monday was NYE.

But over the weekend, most movies didn't follow 2002 either. I do expect strong hold, how strong we'll see. 9M+ would lead to a tiny drop over the weekend and lock up 300M+ by Sunday.

Good job by the Hobbit getting #1 3 weeks in a row.  Who would have thought the new releases wouldn't have been in the race for #1 at all.

Once the screen count for Wolf became known, there was no way any of the new releases were going to win this past weekend.
