CoolioD1 Posted January 3, 2014 Author Share Posted January 3, 2014 American Hustle and Dallas Buyers Club are the only films to hit all three guilds so far (though obviously Slave would be here if it had been eligible) if DBC gets a DGA nod on tuesday then I've got no excuse to not predict it for best picture. The fact that Llewyn Davis has been completely ignored by the guilds is troubling for that movie's chances, too. Although there's usually a film or two that gets no guild love but still major Oscar love (tree of life, beasts, amour) so I wouldn't give up hope. Basically you have to be a member of the writers guild to be nominated by the writers guild. I don't know why they do it. None of the other guilds do that.
