Park Chan-wook (Hangul박찬욱 Korean pronunciation: [paktɕʰanuk]; born August 23, 1963) is a South Korean film directorscreenwriterproducer, and former film critic. One of the most acclaimed and popular filmmakers in his native country, Park is most known for his films Joint Security AreaThirst and what has become known as The Vengeance Trilogy, consisting of 2002's Sympathy for Mr. VengeanceOldboy in 2003 and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance in 2005. His films are noted for their immaculate framing and often brutal subject matter.

François Roland Truffaut (French: [tʁyfo]; 6 February 1932 – 21 October 1984) was a French film director, screenwriter, producer, actor, and film critic, as well as one of the founders of theFrench New Wave.[1] In a film career lasting over a quarter of a century, he remains an icon of the French film industry, having worked on over 25 films. Truffaut's film The 400 Blows came to be a defining film of the French New Wave movement.
