Well, FOX has been letting Cameron take his sweet time planning Avatar 2.

Another 2 year wait won't really matter to them. Also isn't Cameron going to film three sequels at once? We might be talking about an entire year of filming.

Cameron has a stake in Avatarland, which Disney World is building along with Star Wars Land, so I imagine Cameron wants to play nice with Disney which means not releasing Avatar 2 directly against SW8 or SW9.

? Cameron has full ctrl of release dates and everything in the Cameron and Fox project deals... No one individual has had this kind of absolute power over a 40b plus franchise and others coming up with fox since gl in 80-2000s anyway..  I love it.. juggernaut 2017 is the main 800lb gorilla that the world awaits.  Soon they will wait no longer pandorians

Of course fox and can would play  nice with sws thanks to those avatar land deals with Disney,  but you know jc could be doing his white lie thing mojoguy and they are still on schedule.  James is a master of misdirection.  So let's keep our hopes for 2017 Dec after all.   Latest 2018 Dec release  for part II... Then 3 and 4 in back to back winter  debuts of absolute breathtaking Story , visual and musical and sound bliss.

I know right,  everyone is agreed that future sws films will drop off domestically and bigtime os.  Going by Cameron history avatar will keep increasing.  If it follows terminator II like jumps,  oh my on how embarrassing it will be for Disney top Lawdogs and universal top law dogs...  In avatar we trust for 1b domestic potential and over 3b os potential... Where will you be when Cameron does it for the third time in a row?

Probably because they're upset that Avatar is still the number 1 highest grossing film of all time, and the thread being visible made them remember that sws run aruptly ended.

Also because production hasn't started. There's a rumored date and it may very well be true but until Fox or Cameron confirms it it's still a rumor

Rumored start date is April 15th and Cameron recently said they were pretty close to starting. I think it is indeed finally coming together but I still want it set in stone before I get too excited
