Not completely dead yet but almost there

The last Star Wars movie made over a billion dollars and they have a guaranteed Emmy contender coming up later this year.

I wouldn't argue Star Wars is off topic, it is Disney.

Isn't Andor S2 in 2025? I don't think they have any Emmy contender this year.

Disney (the + division, not counting the various FX/Hulu productions in the mix) has both Asoka and Season 2 of Loki in the running for the Emmys this cycle but neither is expected to make much of a dent beyond techs unless those are so unexpectedly strong that they push them to Series noms in a field where they'll need to pick 8 shows (and even that's not expected to happen despite how barren Drama is this year).

Feel like Freaky Friday2  is 1 of those concepts that could really over-perform.

Disney just needs 1 really good Star Wars film. Many brands have gone through periods where the material is stale and interest feels very low. SW remains the biggest fanbase on Earth. They really need a creator to bring a fresh approach and inject some life into it.

If Excel were tasked with the next Star Wars film, I would pair a in-her-prime Rey with a recognizable old face as a Force Ghost-type main character, either Hamill's Luke or Ewan's Obi Wan.  It needs to faithful enough for SW fans to not turn on it (ala TLJ) but still original enough for casual fans to be excited (ala parts of TLJ). Think Batman Begins, Casino Royale, X-Men: First Class, etc. The movie would be dark and have to have a Maul-esque badass villain.

Some badass trailers and a mid-90s RT score will go a long, long way.

If this is true, it'd be a big get for Disney since they didn't initially have these rights. Until a few months ago this was at Netflix

Geez Percy Jackson must've been a bigger hit then they were expecting.

I don't know about that.  I'd phrase it as "Thank god, we finally found something other than Marvel/SW that our subs will watch— more please!"

There's a lot they can do with it.

It would really be fun if they also did the spinoff series involving Norse Mythlogy..what makes it fun is that the Marvel Version of the Norse myths is specfically mentioned and discusses in the first novel (The Norse gods find the marvel version drop dead funny),

It is nice to see Percy done justice after the fiasco of the first movies.

Rick Riordin had input into the TV series; that his publisher is a Disney company helps in that regard.

Percy Jackson is one of the few Harry Potter wannabe series of books that was any good, that is because though inspired by Potter, Riordan found a voice of his won rather then just imitate Rowling.

Top 10 (er, 9 or 11, he messed up the count so there's technically 114 entries) coming soon.

The only songs I can think of he didn't include yet are

Spoiler

Dos Orugitas, Hellfire, All of You, Frozen Heart, Show Yourself.
