Goffe
Dragon 2 is a fail I'm sorry, how? people seemed to love the movie, it had great trailers, no competition whatsoever before or after the movie opened
BK007
The best thing so far is that Disney has no real bombs on their hands. There's no Mars needs Moms, John Carters, or Lone Rangers to really hurt Disney at the BO. Muppets Most Wanted underperformed, but it didn't cost a lot to make, so It probably made a small profit. I know that the DreamWorks films that Disney distributes are still bombs, but Disney doesn't finance those. It seems like Disney is really having a solid year. It's hard to bomb when you don't make any original films but just keep ripping off franchises and brands. Wait, don't tell me you're including Cap with Disney? Because it's such a Disney film. MDA made $10m more and those Disney animal documentaries barely make any money. That's it.
JohnnyGossamer
I just think that no matter how great reviews are certain concepts cannot massively break out into the wider audience domestically. DOFP had great Wom but it did not break out that much domestically. Same with ST2 and many others. It is hard to describe but I think certain films appeal to a certain group and that is it. If you look at the biggest films every summer they have a rather wide appeal to them. In summer 2013, you had Iron Man 3, DM2, MOS and Fast 6... They appealed to a very wide segment of the audience. I think the same will apply to Dawn of the Apes as well.

The Panda
however we use the box office of films we like to say people liked them. For example DOFP did 500 million overseas, so the overseas market really liked the film.It works both ways...Kind of, but that just means people went to see the movie it doesn't mean the people that saw it liked it.Movies have good legs for an abundance of reasons, and just because more people saw a movie doesn't mean more people liked it or more people more passionately liked it than a lesser grossing movie. It simply means it made more money.

La Binoche
sorry, but GA opinion holds little to no value in a movie forum This is a box office forum. GA = box office. And let's be honest, a lot of the people here aren't real movie watchers. Watching Chris Nolan's filmography is not enough.

I think that it will have the fans of the Transformers serise, Dark Knight seriese, Star Wars fans and so on.
Lordmandeep
sorry, but GA opinion holds little to no value in a movie forum this is not only a movie rating forum... It is a forum where we discuss movies and how well they did at the box office and that usually means how the audiences liked the film. We then also talk a lot about we like and hate films and anticipate (or hate on) upcoming films. I may dislike certain films but I know when certain films break out, its because another segment of the audience liked the film a lot. If so, when I first saw this battle starting to take fold, I couldn't help but think of this as like a Selesnya deck I had goosebumps

Mal tapped that audience before dragon and held it.

Lordmandeep
I would argue more that people on here don't accurately represent the movie going public more so then people here are not movie fans. For example: on this site films like Taken or Fast Five are liked but not very well liked. However if I ask family and friends they think its "sick yooo!!"
