luna
we're past the start date last time, and sims still hasn't been here since march. so i'll take over this time, for the 3rd annual BOF top 100! if he comes, i'll be happy to hand it over. RULES- You are to submit a list that will go toward determining the forums' all time 100 favorite films. (I should specify that as you are compiling your list, you can define "favorite" however you wish to. For some posters, "favorite" films may be the same as what they deem to be the "best" films. For others, "favorite" films are simply those that provide the most entertainment value.) - There is no minimum number of films you need to list; nonetheless, the scoring system rewards those who publish a full list up to 100 films. - Miniseries and TV films are not allowed. Films that have not yet been released are obviously not allowed (believe it or not, this came up a couple times last year). The film does not need to have had a US theatrical release to be eligible. - Lists can be posted in the thread or by PM, i don't care. but it'd be nice if some were by PM so we'd get more a surprise. - Films in a series must be listed separately. No votes for just the "Lord of the Rings trilogy" or "Kill Bill," etc. If you can't come up with separate rankings, choose just one film to represent the series (e.g. Fellowship for LOTR). If you disregard this, I will allocate the points equally across the films.- The best way to list is - film (year) - because a lot of films have duplicate titles. SCORINGI will use the system as in the top 100 directors for this. At least 51 films listed #1: 7 points #2-3: 5 points #4-10: 4 points #11-20: 3 points #21-50: 2 points #51+: 1 point At least 21 films listed #1: 5 points #2-3: 4 points #4-10: 3 points #11-20: 2 points #21+: 1 point At least 11 films listed #1: 4 points #2-3: 3 points #4-10: 2 points #11+: 1 point Less than 11 films listed 1 point each Tiebreakers In case of tiebreakers, most #1 votes wins, then most #2, and so on. Unranked If you don't rank the directors then all listed will get 1 point. So please rank. Deadline of 11:59pm 31 August. luna
(it's a little over 100, is that ok? if not i can shorten it, just let me know) Tentative List i'll make it easier for you and just take the first hundred. also, you don't have to rank completely, just within the scoring groups is good enough. Lisa, can you do your epic Paint posters for each finalist? it's a possibility.
