Dementeleus
based on predictions people have made it may not pass Smaug We literally have only sneak preview numbers, which are higher than most expected (except for grim's prediction based on my sellout count). If anything, the super early indicators are that it may surpass people's (low) expectations.

Jandrew
Wait a minute, this came out today? Wow, shows how invested I am in the current box office. Is Annie and NATM out too?

Dementeleus
Double feature started at 8. Film itself not start until midnight. Here in LA, at least, there were plenty of shows starting at 8. The double features started around 5.

Mango
Is that good? It's a 26% increase which means it was pretty much not hurt by the Hobbit and losing supposed IMAX screens at all. EDIT: Though the real trial will be today. I don't know how many theaters it is losing in addition to most IMAX's, but don't be surprised to see a high 30s or maybe even low 40% dip going into Wednesday. Depending on the theater loss, anyway. It probably lost 1-2 showtimes per IMAX theater due to HOBBIT sneaks. It probably also lost a few shows to the Hobbit marathon on Monday.
