MovieMan89
I remember that first trailer gave me a lot of hope. It looked like it could be something really special right off the bat. Do you think WOM will be there tribe?

It's pretty much a Pixar movie through the mid-section, even overdoing it a bit. Definitely their most accessible film.

Fullbuster
I wasn't interested in Boxtrolls and Paranorman was good but this Kubo seems really interesting and fascinating, I'll try to watch this

cannastop
I can watch this free of charge at my University once December comes. I guess I'll do that. Edited August 19, 2016 by cannastop
JohnnyGossamer
By the way, liking this to win the Best Animated Feature at the Oscars next year. Thinking Disney like Zootopia, Dory and Moana will splinter the vote allowing for Kubo to take it.

Academy voters aren't obligated to prove they've watched all of the nominees. And we know that the voters sometimes choose based on shallow reasons, as seen here: http://www.cartoonbrew.com/award-season-focus/proof-that-oscar-voters-are-clueless-about-animation-109456.html So Kubo has a lot going against it if it's not commercially successful. Obviously, it depends on what school you go to. My school just so happens to have a big auditorium that shows movies.

But it was never anything recent unless it was a niche film.

AniNate
My college had $3 weekend late night admission While I can see Kubo winning at this point, I think it has the reception that enough people would legitimately vote for it over the Disney movies. Think it just depends on if it sells enough tickets to convince them to actually check it out.
