Some of you guys might not believe this but I'd love to meet everyone here.  I would.  Even idiots controversial members like Noctis I'd like to meet.  But that's almost impossible.  I'm going to try to one day meet people on the west coast and then maybe people on the East coast.  So yes, I'd love to hang out with you as well.  And if that is an invitation, I will try to oblige it.

so looking at this very rough but.... assuming AS is able to make $16.5m over the next few days (more than doable IMO), that would bring it's 7 day total to $133.5m

 

Assuming 40% weekly drops, total after 12 weeks would be $336m

Assuming 35% weekly drops, total after 12 weeks would be $383m

Assuming 30% weekly drops, total after 12 weeks would be $444m

 

BUT - It looks like it's going to hold significantly better than 40% this weekend. I currently have it at (and I think I'm being conservative)

 

Thurs 8m

Friday $17.6m (+120% - could be bigger, Ride Along jumped 262% and Lone Survivor 162% last yr)

Saturday $26.4m (+50%)

Sunday $15.9m (-40%)

Weekend - $59.9 (-33%)

 

So... based on 33% weekly drops, total after 12 weeks would be $406m

 

Very rough as I've said, but fun to extrapolate! Who knows, it may collapse next week but everything thus far is pointing towards a decently leggy run so a total of around $400m doesn't seem out of the question. Gosh it feels weird to be throwing $400m around after such a rubbish 2014.

Every single drop/increase for American Sniper since the monstruous OD has been remarkable. WTF is going on with this movie? I'm not american, i dont get it at all. $300m will happen. Next weekend drop will tell us if the number 1 spot of the year is in play. This is just crazy.

 

This weekend, I will see the movie a 3rd time. It taps into our (American) patriotic nerve. Relatedly, our military members are considered heroes to us and great deeds are rewarded. Films along these lines will ALWAYS make money.
