Intensive
Is Kristen Stewart an option here for Clouds of Sils Maria, which she won the Cesar for?
Jake Gittes
She's fantastic in the movie, but it's not like she's gonna get any real awards campaign. Maybe a few critics' awards.

Impact
Blanchet for Cindy! I know she has no chance, but I did think she did a great job in it. (Gee if it was Streep the Oscars nominate her for no apparent reason )

Spidey Freak
Variety has an interesting read about how studio tactics of pushing roles like Mara's and Vikander's, which are co-leads, in the supporting category, robs the chances of actual supporting/character roles. It is perfectly understandable why the studios are doing it, especially in the case of Vikander, but that writer does make great points. Someone like Sarah Paulson, who may find it harder to get the same opportunities and roles as Mara and Vikander, may unfortunately and unfairly lose out on a nom in a category meant for a role like hers to co-leads. Lol these campaign politics.

WrathOfHan
Number of experts predicting a win/nomination on Gold Derby: Rooney Mara: 13/22 (everyone is predicting a nomination) Alicia Vikander: 6/22 (everyone is predicting a nomination) Kate Winslet: 3/20 Jane Fonda: 0/13 Joan Allen: 0/10 Jennifer Jason Leigh: 0/9 Ellen Page: 0/5 Elizabeth Banks: 0/3 Rachel McAdams: 0/2 Kristen Stewart: 0/2 Helena Bonham Carter: 0/1 Julie Walters: 0/
Joel M
So this pretty much will come down to Mara vs Vikander. If Carol goes all the way and get many big nominations i think Mara wins because Danish Girl seems like a movie that will get 2-3 random nominations at most and no BP/BD. Jake Gittes
So the Globes vetoed Mara and Vikander from contending for supporting actress. Might not mean anything in the end (Catherine Zeta-Jones was nominated for a lead Globe for Chicago, then won a supporting Oscar), but good to see, especially considering that the Globes have 10 Best Actress spots anyway (I'm guessing Lawrence will go comedy), but only 5 for supporting actresses. And I really hope JJL wins there now.

The Dark Alfred
Mara will win this. Danish Girl won't be a major player like Carol, this won't be a contest, Mara will win SAG, Oscars and Bafta too if they put her to supporting. filmlover
I like the thought that Rooney Mara could win a Best Supporting Actress while competing simultaneously at the Razzies with her sister in Worst Supporting Actress for their big budget 2015 flops. Maybe the Razzies will give them an honorary award just to call the Mara sisters their Olivia de Havilland and Joan Fontaine.
