Better than The Best of Me for The Longest Ride.

Very strong Friday hold, 60M+ is going to happen for the weekend.  I'm not sure which is more impressive OS performance by FF7 or domestic.

 

While it's domestic #'s are very impressive, FF7 OS numbers are just a phenomenal behemoth that's will help earn the franchise it's first $1 billion grossing movie.

Ledger was different, he wasn t a star, he died tragically in a classic doing a performance for the ages. But it had an effect for sure.

Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee died trafically on the set of the Crow but he wasn t a star either and wasn t in a big franchise.

How was Ledger not a star?

One of our theatre managers told me that "movies like this" are absolutley packed opening night. Then after that... nothing. So there definitely is a loyal fanbase, but these movies aren't generally too front loaded are they?

Another great hold. It will be interesting to see if it can continue making up ground against Oz as it did this past week. My niece may be warming up to the idea of watching this after finally watching the Disney animated version.

I think it may even blast past $350M and do close to $380M

I own all of the F&F movies on Blu ray but I've never watched any of them. I really don't have much interest in cars or the cast unless Paul Walker or Vin Diesel are making my toes curl in the back of one.

I guess I need to marathon these so I'll know what the fuss is all about.

More great news for FF7, it made 34M Yuan for midnights or $5.5M. It can potentially do 40M for OD in China!!!!!!!FF7 WW performance is just plain shocking.
