Weekend Estimates: TLR - 13.5M; Furious 7 - 60.5M; Home - 19M [F7 - 63M OD in China!]

I think I heard it mentioned on Scriptnotes as well as read it on Forbes a while ago. Will see if I can find where it said so, I remember reading that the licensing to networks is based on box office gross which is in bands like 200-225M, which is why we constantly see movies pushed above 100M as opposed to ending their run in the 99 millions and so on.

Oh so Hercules didn't get the milestone push? Interesting. Let me look at the numbers or do you care to provide?  Thanks

I think the 2 movies Grim mentioned to be in the range of 99-100 were both Disney distributed animations, Hercules and Gnomeo & Juliet. Herc bowed at $99,112,101 while Gnomeo had the most excruciating total ever: $99,967,670! Have no clue why Disney didn't make the slightest effort there.

It does seem somewhat crazy that Gnomeo number. Literally one expansion on a weekend would have got it there. The disparity between the number of movies ending between 100-101M and 99-100M is amazing

Ooh, interesting. I was always of the impression that Hunchback had a much lower gross than Hercules.

Nope. Hunchback was a bigger hit OS than Hercules, making 70m more.

Hunchback made 325m WW. Pocahontas made 346m. ;)

a $18 Friday would be HUGE, a $58 second weekend, a 60,5% drop coming from a massive OW (an with a holiday) is simply amazing. Not expected at all.

I will expect for estimates to see if it's true, I was expecting a $16 Friday (which would have been great)

Please bear with me, I may be a tad rusty...

Wed: 9.25m (-30%)

Thurs: 8.60m (-7%)

Fri: 19.35m (+125%)

Sat: 24.20m (+25%)

Sun: 14.50m (-40%)

Weekend: 58.05m (-60.6%) (250.3m cume)

So predicting the grosses through the week, I'd wager:

Wed: 10.0 (-24%)

Thurs: 9.5 (-5%)

Fri: 19.0 (+100%)

Sat: 26.6 (+40%)

Sun: 16.0 (-40%)

Weekend: 61.6m (255m+ cume)

Going with Fake. :P

So far, I was closer... :P

Overall anyway...
