I'm gonna let Ethan and James defend this inclusion this high up.  :P

I kid, I kid, it's actually a score that has some pretty good cues and tracks, but there's also a bit too much clanging metal and sturm and drang for my taste. Steve Jablonsky knows how to turn a good theme and it does show in the samples posted. How much you like the rest of the music depends on how much you like the factory mechanic style of much of the score.

The hell?

I like the TF score. "Scorponok" especially has a great development from sinister brooding to exciting bombast. It's also following what is arguably the best action sequence in the entire series. Kinda sad since it's also the first.

But as a whole? Compared to all scores? Nah, man. It's not that great.

I remember when they used the Scorponok theme in Revenge of the Fallen trailer.

Thought it was pretty awesome. Movie still looked bad though

I propose a new scoring system for these lists.  Your votes lose 10% of their worth for every decade of cinema you've never watched a movie from.

a score should appear in x percentage of lists to be in the ranking.

The Great Escape, Robin Hood, E.T. ... list is improving. :)

Yeah, that theme is one of the most memorable ever used in a movie, whether you like it or not. You are clearly not able to make a difference between a movie and it's score. Pirates 2 will be higher. It was #3 on my list.

Since when does memorable = depth?

Whats wrong with Transformers score? sure I wouldn't put it in my top 25. but it has some really unearthly themes that are actually quite beautiful.

Did all star wars scores make the top 100?
