Weekend Estimates: JW: 102 IO 91...RTH: Sun JW 38.3 | IO 25.3 with possible upsides PG 287, possible 107M for JW weekend

Birdman remains the only movie I've ever seen at the cinema where people have walked out during the movie.

Tree of Life and Moonrise Kingdom are the ones I've seen it. The latter because they got all hot and bothered over pre-teen makeout sessions. :P  The former because, well...ya know it was Tree of Life.

Another brutal death was the the guy in TLW that gets pulled into the waterfall and you hear his bones crunching and the waterfall turn into blood.

Carter getting stomped on by The T-Rex was also quite brutal.

So glad to be here for this enormous B.O. run. Cant wait to see actuals tomorrow. What other records does this have in its immediate cross hairs besides fastest to 400 and a billion

With tomorrow's actuals...

Biggest 2nd Weekend

8-day total

9-day total

10-day total

Fastest to $400m (10 days!)

And who knows, if the actuals overseas increase as much as they appear to be here in North America, maybe it will even be at $1b through Sunday when it's all said and done.

Regardless of the death controversy...

Jimmy Buffett running with the margaritas during that scene is fucking hilarious. Surely we can all agree on that one, lol.

I had idea that was a known person.  It makes much more sense now.

Did anyone think JW wasn't that much better than 3? It was better overall but not radically so. I also while it had annoying characters I like the intense tone of the second movie

I disagree. Not because I loved JW(C+), but because I despise JP3(D/D-). Up there with Transformers 2 as far as worst blockbusters of all-time go.

Man Eating Fish vs. Acorn Man is still more graphic!!!!

Only one person in here will get the reference

The battle didn't actually happen because Man-Eating Fish ended up having to attend his own wedding, leading to the film The Wedding of The Man-Eating Man, while Acorn Man accidentally got stuck in time, and well you know the rest of the story.

It had a doctor though and we know those do great in the UK.

I think it's better than 2/3 but nowhere near the first one. The internet backlash is definitely going to be huge, Avatar-like in how over-the-top people get. We're probably 6 months out from that tho

Whatever happened to Laura Dern anyway speaking of JP.
Yes she was nominated for a Oscar last year-but still it seems she really disappeared for the most part.

sorry bro, but Birdman was a masterpiece

seems like you don't understand cinema yet.

No offense but take a course in cinema online, it will open you to the wonders of Cinematography.

for example: next time you watch a film (such as Birdman) instead of focusing in on the characters,  watch what is behind them

In what is pretty much the appearance of zero cuts during the movie’s running time (supposedly there are some edits), you are watching the resemblance of a stage production. The “gimmick” as some would say more than worked for me. It was exhilarating. This is a daunting challenge for actors to pull off. Keaton wasn’t the only star in this. Edward Norton also shines.....

I don't know, that is just HOW I ROLL as far as Cinema.

Start with a Hitchcock film and pay attention and you'll open to a larger world.

When I first took a course online my reaction the first day was "HOLY HELL!!!" what have I been missing.

Laura Dern is an actress I always forget about yet she insists on popping up every now and then to remind me of her existence. Though Wild might've finally changed that for me since I thought she was superb there.
