it s weird i know but i m not sure about that ... JW had benefit of the spillover of IO and vice versa.

The 2 movies were very good so you had 2 choices for the families i think they helped each other

I was very impressed at that 150m budget for JW. I didn't know dinos could be done for so cheap.

I dunno.  I want to see how JW performs in it's 3rd weekend before calling $650 plus.  The hold it got this weekend was boosted by Fathers Day, which might give us a false read on how good it's legs will actually be in the long run.  It's still going to need $150 million through July and August to get there and that usually doesn't happen.

It's drop barely would have been 50% without FD.

No. Yeah there was 2 90+ openers, but then you had to go down 80M until you got to #3. Top 12, not top 2.

Poor Mockingjay. With so many big blockbusters this year and with Star Wars coming after it nobody is going to care much about it's run =P

It's releasing before most big Holiday movies except Spectre, and a month before TFA. It has plenty of opportunity to gather lots of hype and not be overshadowed when it opens. Of course good marketing would help, and LG seems to have inexplicably forgotten what that is.

Yeah. It could get downright nasty for IO that weekend given how huge Minions is going to open. The drop will not be pretty.
