Top ten films of 2016 predictions

Recommended Posts

EXCUSE me?? He hasn't done anything remotely successful+interesting in 15 years!! so yeah, I will underestimate the fuck out of him.

Lincoln did $180 million, when it was only expected to do $70-80 million, and had a stellar performance from Day-Lewis, even if the film was just decent.

Catch Me If You Can and Minority Report were both successful and interesting.

Also, he didn't release a film in 1999 or 2000, so your 15 year date is off. Plus, A.I. definitely wasn't that much of a financial success.

Spielberg has made some solid films in the last 15 yrs, even if they don't really come close to his earlier works.

Regardless, I'm expecting The BFG to do Tintin/War Horse numbers due to the sheer amount of family-friendly competition for summer 2016 (Ratchet and Clank, Cap 3, Alice 2, Dory, Angry Birds, Pets, Ice Age 5, Pete's Dragon, Kubo).

February is filled with dumpster movies.....movies that not many people will care about. (Deadpool), (Ben-Hur remake) etc.....

So...just for that....give KFP3 a shot...cause it would play well and have legs against those puny, weak movies.

I think that lots of people can't wait for Deadpool.

Of course it won't be a big hit but it will make a decent amount of money.

No love for deadpool?

Family-friendly films tend to do well at the box office. Deadpool doesn't exactly look family-friendly, does it? With that R-rating, the best it can do is $400m worldwide. Which would be a fantastic success, given its slim $30m budget.

Lincoln was a masterpiece and probably one of the most impressive runs for a drama the past decade.

I'm expecting Bridge of Spies to have a run somewhere in between that and Argo. Spielberg/Hanks is a super-strong pairing, Terminal aside.

Probably......but i dunno....besides the X-Men franchise, Fox doesn't have that much of a great reputation for Marvel-superhero flicks. (See FF, this August)

Deadpool is tied to x-Men I think it'll be at least in the top 20 and make enough for a sequel fifty shades and kingsman weren't hurt by the rating

Yeah, it will make enough for a sequel based on hype alone from comic book fans. It probably will be in the top 20, and even if it underperforms with something like $150m worldwide that would still be profitable (unlike Fant4stic), due to the much lower budget.

EDIT: I can tell by your username that you're eagerly anticipating the film  :D

Do you still think Bourne Will come out next year?

It hasn't started filming yet and details are scarce (we don't even have an official title!), so I wouldn't be surprised if it were delayed to late 2016. Also, it's set to open the same day as Finding Dory - it has to move! To answer your question, I think it will still be a 2016 film though - I'm thinking it'll be pushed back to October/November.
