What's  up with these 110-115m predictions for Minions. It just set an OD record. Why would it be that frontloaded?

We're in summer now. Kids had just as many opportunities to go yesterday as they did any other day.

That's virtually impossible to judge because we're talking specifically about opening day of wednesday compared to friday.

Well they didn't fudge any records for Jurassic World. It all came out in actuals.

 

True. Just have to see how Saturday goes. If it's unbelievably big then maybe they will comfortable estimating the record tomorrow morning. If it can jump around 8-10% today from the non-preview Friday gross of $40m, I think they will feel comfortable estimating a new record above Shrek 3's $122.5m weekend.

Also, lol it was such a mistake releasing Magic Mike XXL on 4th of July weekend. It's gonna end up with a final total of around $75M, which is what it would have ended up with in total no matter when it was released.
