I'm really, REALLY glad with this success! We expected a horror movie to break out during the whole year, and we finally got one, and a huge one! Horror really needed a hit like this

I think here is the only place where the video stores still strong, I tried to rent Ouija yesterday, and it was sold out, lol

Ive thought of opening a rental store.  Not in Toronto as I don't think it would fly here, people are just too cool to rent movies here (sarcasm).  But there are lots of people who don't want to download films.  There's plenty of people like me who like to walk up and down the aisles and look for something to rent.

Mendelson's tweet seems not to work = dierect link

which means my post for The Visit is going out before my post for The Perfect Guy. Both films are going to likely end up over/under $26 million. So this isn’t about winners and losers here, as both films are absolutely winners this weekend. But the only reason the 1/2 slots are in contention when the final figures are released on Monday afternoon is because The Visit had a fantastic Saturday night, actually jumping 15% and earning $10.6m compared to its $9.22m Friday. First of all, that’s the second biggest Friday-to-Saturday jump for an M. Night Shyamalan film ever.....................

I refuse to download, only kills video renters, small business'.... and hightens IMHO the danger of future problems like they decide when something is available or in which ciountry, the prices, no used market... and some other reasons not good for the final customer IMHO

I only buy downloadable e-books at small publishers directly or at Baen

Portugal market is already dead so I download stuff. Mostly shows for me and movies for my mom, tho. As you guys know I see most stuff in theaters. I saw Transporter Refueled and Hitman in theaters  How many people can say that here?

Sounds like you are from a similar place that I grew up.  I am from a smallish city in Canada called London.  It has about 350,000 people (not too small, not too big).  It's located about halfway between Detroit and Toronto.  There's a video rental store there called Jumbo video and it's the only one in the city.  It's busy every day.  I miss it dearly.

yeah our population is 15,000 hahahaha. so so small.  if you watch house of cards, its where Kevin Spacey's character is from, which is still the weirdest thing.  i remember watching season one and couldnt believe they chose here (of course, none of it is actually filmed here)

Genesys crumbling in China.

There are a lot of discussions about Terminator got ~ robbed $11m+ in China based on some incentives the government offered cinema owners there if they manage to sell a certain number of tickets for a local movie
