So You're saying that productions with 120M budgets don't use tax benefits?

Didn't he said the budget of Scorch Trials is so low because Fox used tax benefits  ? This is what I took from his post.

No I didn't you're putting words in my mouth. If you read my comment, you will see I said "film rebates and tax credits are going to good use." I never said that the budget is low because of it.

But it is. Same with the first movie which somehow only cost 35M.

My reply to the comments I quoted did not revolve around why the budget was low, but why the film looks grander in scale for its budget. I simply pointed out rebates and tax credits were put to good use. Every film uses these benefits, but you don't always see it translated on the big screen.

Black Mass should do about at least 70 million domestic, Maze Runner will probably make between 75-80 which is bleh for the anticipated sequel but should do fine overseas. Everest is off to a decent start it should bring in a decent opening next weekend against Hotel Transylvania 2.

Unless Everest breaks out in wide release, none of this week's three releases will make $100 million domestic. I was expecting all three to do that.

you where? Everest and Black Mass always looked like 80-90m grossers at best to me. Maze Runner was the only one i thought would hit 100m, so that was a disappointment.
